There are many different piano methods for beginners. Each method has its advantages and problem spots. The main goal is for a child to learn how to read music, have a proper hand positions, and be able to learn pieces mostly on their own with a help from a teacher.

I could not find a method I really liked and decided to make my own. This complete beginner method is inspired by the Russian Piano method. I start with using just one finger and reading the notes right away. A student will learn how to use a proper hand position and reading notes from the very beginning. I spend about 3-6 months sometimes even longer learning the treble clef notes before moving to the bass clef notes.

My complete beginner pieces are mostly based on well-known nursery rhymes and children’s songs. There are some unknown tunes as well to provide a mix of known and new melodies.
